Garam Masala-Spiced Potatoes and Peas

Garam Masala-Spiced Potatoes and Peas
Ingredients:
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds (optional)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (optional)
1 tsp garam masala
Salt, to taste
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds (if using) and let them sizzle.
  • Add onions and sauté until golden. Stir in turmeric (if using) and garam masala.
  • Add potatoes and mix well. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add green peas and cook for another 5 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Adjust salt to taste and serve as a side dish.
Spinach with Garlic and Garam Masala
Ingredients:
4 cups fresh spinach, washed and chopped
1 tbsp oil
1 T garlic, minced
1/2 tsp garam masala
Salt, to taste
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • Add the spinach and cook until wilted (3-4 minutes).
  • Sprinkle garam masala and salt. Stir well and cook for another minute.
  • Serve as a side or with warm bread.
